Christmas Sailing Schedule December 2009
Coastal Container Line has confirmed the revised sailing schedule for the Christmas and New Year period (effective 22 December 2009 to 6 January 2010. PDF version available here.
Coastal Isle and Coastal Deniz return to Service August 2009
The sister vessels Coastal Deniz and Coastal Isle are back in service at 1200hrs on 15th August 2009 after successfully completing their respective dry dockings.
The MV Spaarnedijk has been a successful substitute vessel and has now been redelivered to its owners.
Coastal Vessels Dry Dock July 2009
The Coastal Isle will commence its Statutory Dry Dock on 15th July 2009 for approximately 15 days. Once this has been completed the Coastal Deniz will commence its Statutory Dry Dock.
The service to the customers will be unaffected during this period as Coastal have Chartered a replacement vessel; the MV Spaarnedijk. There will be a seamless transition as this vessel will sail ex Dublin on 15th July 2009 as the Coastal Isle comes off charter. The Spaarnedijk will leave Coastal's Service only when the Coastal Deniz returns to regular service.
New Jumbo Container delivered and in Service May 2009
The New Jumbo Containers announced in March 2009 have commenced delivery and are being put into service. This is a milestone in Coastal's continuing investment programme and will benefit the customer and the service. The complete redesign of these units now enables us to carry a 25 tonne payload if required whilst also providing a maximum cubic capacity. The internal dimensions are 13442mm length, 2440mm between the sides and 2996mm high. The delivery of all 80 units will be completed within July 2009.
Dave Sherwood Appointed as Sales Manager March 2009
We are pleased to announce that Dave Sherwood has been appointed Sales Manager for Coastal Container Line. Dave has a wealth of experience in Logistics and has recently been working for an International Chemical Tank Container Specialist with a regional office in North West England. We believe that Dave's extensive experience will benefit existing and new customers of our Irish Sea Services. Major Investment in New Containers March 2009
A major New Investment in Specialist High Cube Containers (Jumbo's) has been agreed with Coastal's parent company Peel Ports. The investment amounting to £600,000 is an integral part of the container fleet renewal programme. The specialist nature of these units is required for one of Coastal's "Blue Chip" Clients. A total of 80 containers will be designed and fabricated by Yorkshire Marine Containers Limited based in Beverley, East Yorkshire and delivery commences in May 2009.
Ken Barrett Retires from Coastal February 2009
Ken Barratt has opted to retire after many years of dedicated and tireless service to Coastal Container Line. Ken is very much respected in the container business; I am sure that both customers and colleagues will join us in wishing Ken many happy and healthy years ahead with his family.
